The vote on a proposed constitutional gay marriage ban that was delayed this week in a House committee could happen next week.
LGBTQ Nation reports:
Indiana House Speaker Brian Bosma says lawmakers are taking their time deciding how they’ll vote on a proposed amendment that would ban gay marriage. The Indianapolis Republican said Wednesday that a vote by the House Judiciary Committee could happen next week. Members of that panel had planned a vote Monday, but delayed it following hours of emotional testimony. Bosma said he has not counted the votes on the committee, but believes any decision would be a narrow one.
The GOP is finding it’s not as easy to stomp all over our rights in the name of the “sanctity of marriage” in order to drum up votes as it used to be.
